Dean at Imperial College Business School


Francisco Veloso is the Dean at Imperial College Business School. But this is not his first experience as Dean, since he occupied the same position at Católica Lisbon School of Business & Economics, where he held the NOS Chair in Innovation and Entrepreneurship. He is still an invited professor at Católica and an adjunct at Carnegie Mellon University.  

Francisco has a PhD in Technology, Management and Policy from MIT - Massachusetts Institute of Technology, as well as an MSc in Technology Management and a Degree in Physics Engineering. Francisco's research focuses on high tech innovation and entrepreneurship. He has several publications in leading academic journals and has won several awards for his contributions, including the Alfred P. Sloan Industry Studies Fellowship, the Stan Hardy award for the outstanding paper published in the field of Operations Management, as well as grants from the National Science Foundation, the Sloan Foundation and the Richard King Mellon Foundation. He regularly contributes as a consultant and advisor to a range of start-ups, established firms, universities and government around the world.
